Congregation Nishmat Am continues to grapple with the issues of the Covid-19 crisis, daily – mourning the toll of human lives, praying for the recovery of those who have fallen ill, trying to adapt to the new limitations and procedures for how we interact and conduct our lives at home, at school, in the workplace and in our institutions and organizations.
At the same time, we plan for the future when we see the resumption of the normal practices and the rhythms of our lives.
In this regard we are announcing that our 2020 Gala which was scheduled for last April and which was to have celebrated Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen’s 50th Anniversary of serving the Greater Dallas Jewish Community will be held on – Sunday May 2, 2021. The time and place remain the same – 7:00 PM at the Renaissance Hotel in Addison.
Whether it is 50 years or 51 years, we still come together to celebrate the unique accomplishments of this unique man. Our goal, our resolve and our enthusiasm are undiminished by the delay.
If you have already made a donation to the Gala, be assured that the money already contributed to the event remains on your account. We will contact you within the coming months to verify that as well as any arrangements that have already been made for attendance and ad journal submission. We will also discuss any change of circumstances that may affect your attendance at the Gala.
If you have not made a commitment to the event, we hope that you will consider doing so. A more formal invitation will be sent out in a few months when you will have the opportunity to participate and pay tribute to our beloved Rabbi Cohen.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss any matter related to the Gala, don’t hesitate to contact Stanley Siegel at the synagogue office, on his cellular phone at (214) 551-2314, or via email to email@example.com
– at any time.
In the meantime we wish the best to all of our members and friends of the synagogue and – with the High Holidays almost upon us – join in our hopes and prayers for a happy, safe and healthy New Year for us, for our community and world-wide.
